Protecting Your Cue
For the more budget-conscious consumer, soft cue cases are an option. These cases are generally made of vinyl, nylon, or other materials. The cost of these particular cases depends on the type of material they are made of. Soft cue cases provide the minimum amount of protection for a pool cue. In fact, the only real benefit to a soft case is that it prevents the pool cue from being scratched. Other than that the cue is vulnerable to damage or breakage while in the case.
Leather cue cases are a popular type of soft case due to the fact they are sleek and stylish. However, leather cue cases present the same problem as all other soft case: They do not adequately protect the cue. If style is the only concern when purchasing a cue case, soft cases will do. However, for proper protection of the cue, soft cases are not recommended.
Hard cue cases are recommended for optimum protection of a pool cue. These cue cases are constructed of vinyl, plastic, wood, aluminum, or other metals. These hard cue cases can be purchased with locks, and in many different styles. Because these cases are made of durable material, they offer optimum protection for a pool cue. Hard cases vary in price depending on the type of material they are made out of. That being said, one should be able to find a hard case for any budget. Even if one has to pay a little extra, it is worth it to know the pool cue is properly protected.
